My name is Mandy Rodrigues and I am a Clinical psychologist in private practice. I am also chairperson of the counselling arm on the SASREG Board. I have worked in the field for nearly thirty years coinciding with my own IVF journey and miscarriages. A lot of my work involves counselling individuals and couples in their fertility journey. This also involves assessing donors, recipients and surrogate mothers. I have written two books and developed an on-line stress management portal initially for women’s health, now extending into corporate health. When I went through my infertility and pregnancies, there was so little support, no social media and infertility was more of a stigma. I would like to think that we have made huge strides in this field over the last decade specifically and am proud to say that South Africa sits right at the top with superb specialists and clinics.
