Professor Robert Norman holds a personal chair as Emeritus Professor for Reproductive and Periconceptual Medicine at the University of Adelaide, and is a subspecialist in reproductive medicine (CREI) and in endocrine biochemistry (FRCPA). He was Director of the Robinson Research Institute at the University of Adelaide from 2008 to 2013. He has been President of the AE-PCOS Society, the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE) and leader of 2 Australian NHMRC Program grants while serving on several senior NHMRC Principal Committees. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and was awarded an Order of Australia (AO) in 2013. His major research contributions have been in IVF and reproductive endocrinology, particularly in PCOS, the effect of lifestyle on reproductive outcomes and periconception medicine. He was Medical Director at Fertility SA 2013-2018 and was an active reproductive medicine specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He was awarded the Distinguished Researcher Award by ASRM, Life Membership by ESHRE and the Fertility Society of Australia and the Lifetime Achievement Award by ASPIRE. He remains active as teacher, mentor and researcher while acting as an Editorial Editor for Fertility and Sterility.
