Prof Zozo Nene is a Reproductive Medicine Sub-Specialist and an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. She is Head of the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility unit and Academic coordinator at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and the University of Pretoria. She is the President of the Colleges of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists at the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She is a member of the Reproductive Medicine Subspecialist sub-committee at the College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of the CMSA. She is a South African representative of WHO-FIGO collaboration on contraception and has given presentations on behalf of the WHO in that capacity. She has participated in various WHO Stakeholders’ meetings.
She is part of the National Department of Health’s technical expert advisory team on contraception and infertility. She is one of the scientific experts on the SRHR Curriculum development of the National Department of Health. She is lead author of the National Clinical Guidelines for Safe Conception and Infertility. She a member of the Ministerial Committee for redress in complainants of forced/coerced sterilisation. She is a member of the International Medical Advisory Panel (IMAP) for the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). She has successfully completed a Global Clinical Scholars Research Training (GCSRT) Program at Harvard University, USA and a Management Development Program from the University of Pretoria.
