Ms Roasia Hazarilall is a full-time PhD student from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, School of Law. She obtained her LLB in 2020 and her LLM in Medical Law in 2023. Her research interests include reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and access to assisted reproductive technologies. Roasia has also assisted and contributed to landmark South African cases pertaining to legal parentage and gamete donation. As the first study of its kind to be conducted in South Africa, her current PhD study seeks to analyse the experiences of South African LGBTQ+ persons accessing fertility healthcare services.
